A Talented Designer
As the Director of Product Design at Red Canary, I was responsible for managing the design team and the overall vision and implementation of product design. I interviewed, hired, and onboarded Hauwa to my team. Hauwa is a talented product designer and researcher that delivered a tremendous amount of value to our team and the product. Hauwa is focused on solving the real underlying problems and uncovering that problem space for her stakeholders. She's user-focused, research and data-driven, and passionate about great user experiences. Hauwa is very confident and is great with her communication, presentation, and project management skills. Hauwa is very collaborative with her teammates as well as the product team she worked on. She's always seeking feedback and is not afraid to show her work early and often. She's a life-long learner as well. Hauwa is great at being transparent and direct in giving feedback. She's humble and great at receiving feedback and learning from it. Hauwa was a valued member of my team and definitely an asset to the company. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with, manage, mentor, and coach her. I highly recommend her as a product designer!
Excellence in Tradecraft Execution
Hauwa brings a boundless curiosity furthered by her eagerness to embrace new challenges. During our time together, Hauwa demonstrated an innate ability to listen, connect disparate data points, draw out the relevant themes, and turn them into actionable design solutions. As such, any design(s) from Hauwa solve for the customer’s pain points backed up by excellence in tradecraft execution; UI, UX, Code, Type, form, color, and imagery.
A Joy to Collaborate With
Hauwa is a thorough and empathetic designer. She considers user experience from a number of angles and is always ready to think "outside the box" to build scalable solutions. You can expect Hauwa will research existing problems until she discovers the root cause. Then, you can expect Hauwa will propose a thoughtful, measurable solution. Hauwa is a joy to collaborate with!
Amazing Job Bringing the Vision for My Product to Life
Hauwa did such an amazing job bringing the vision for my product to life. We are thrilled with the end result. As someone without a tech background, I appreciated the way Hauwa was able to bridge the gap and her patience in really learning what we needed and understanding the goals for our software. I would work with her again in a heartbeat.
Keen Eye for Designing Delightful Experiences
I have had the pleasure of working with Hauwa on several projects during our time together at Revelry Labs. She is incredibly talented and has a keen eye for designing delightful experiences for an end-user. More importantly, Hauwa has the rare ability to step into the shoes of a user showing compassion and empathy for their experience and is able to channel that in every application she touches. Hauwa is an invaluable asset to a product team.
Excellent Work Ethic
Hauwa is kind-hearted with an excellent work ethic, and it doesn't take long to notice. I came across her writing and was impressed by her expertise in UX, so I reached out to her to ask if she'd like to be featured on Almanac. She was one of the most responsive out of the people I reached out to, and she moved fast, too. It was clear that she wanted to contribute to Almanac because she wanted her work to benefit others, and she was willing to put effort into that goal. I look forward to any chance I get to work with her again.
